• Family Go Green’s Home website is getting ready to undergo a big change! We are in the middle of redesigning it and hope to have it launched very soon!
• Launching soon is the website for our Green Quiz Quest coming this summer. This will house all the information and details as well as registration information, rules and prize information. We will post a link on our site when it is completed.
• Our Green charity tenatively titled “Community Go Green” is in the works. We plan on applying for 501(3) Status (tax exempt status for charities) which would make donations received Tax Deductible by the end of the second quarter. Look for more details coming soon! Then someone introduced me to Chegg. Chegg allows you to rent your textbooks for a small portion of what you would buy them for. Therefore your saving money and trees. Last semester my books for three classes totaled more than five hundred dollars, when I ran the ISBN numbers through Chegg it would have cost me less than $150 to rent them.

Next time you are buying a textbook or know someone who is- please check out Chegg.. They are a welcomed changed to the college experience!

However I was ending up with way too many.  While I do donate books, I wanted to find a solution that would give me some benefit too. I found this and am now a true addict. Paperbackswap is the place to fix both problems.

Paperback Swap

When you sign up with paperback swap- if you list 10 books for “Swap” you get 2 free “credits”. With these credits you can order 2 free books. When someone selects to order one of your books- you ship it out  “Media Mail”  which is the cheapest mailing available.  You have two options then for how your receive credit for mailing it. If you ship in their system you get instant book credits to order more. If you ship with stamps or at the post office you get credit when the receiver marks it received. So every book you mail out you get credit for a new one to order. It’s that simple.

We started using this site December 21, 2009. To date we have saved over $100 in purchase costs, we have swapped over twenty times, and our books going to and away from us have traveled over twenty thousand miles.

We are only buying urgently wanted books, the rest we just added to our “wishlist” on PBS and we will wait it out.

We choose to keep our very favorite books and our homeschooling books but the rest is read and relisted immediately. Our kids even got in the game and have their books up too!

Participants will be given a riddle or puzzle that is applicable to each site. The riddle’s answer is a product, page, or post on the website, once you find it track your answers to be submitted to us for the contest. Then participants will submit the answers to the riddles and depending on the number of riddles/puzzles answered correctly they will be entered to win different prize levels. There is nothing to click or forward, just keep track of the answers and submit them all at once on our form (available during the Quest on our site) and participants will be entered. Please remember that what one person considered useless because it’s scratched or has missing handles can be a blessing to a family in need. The article in the paper mentioned that the families they help are families getting their children back from foster care, after fires and other emergencies and low income families in need. Help a family get a great start in life! Giving always makes you feel better about yourself, at least it does me!

Newborn review- this fit our baby well, he was 7lbs and not ultra skinny. Born 4 weeks early he was of a good size.  I nurse exclusively so there was not many times we could reuse the cover. That was the main negative. The other negative was the insert seemed too big when it was on the smallest setting. However the insert was ultra absorbent and organic.

Small Review- Very absorbent, ok fit- not really a good fit for our chunky boy, but cover never got more than one use because breast milk pooh went all over due to the insert design.

Medium Review-Same as Small but fit did improve greatly on the next setting.

Large Review- This was used on our older son who is very petite not chunky a bit for the large size. It fit him like a bikini which was great under clothes but not great at all for nights, his bottom would come out of it sometimes if he snagged it on blankets etc. But that does have a lot to do with the strength of their closure system. The absorbency was enough for our toddler even on heavy wetting and as his poo is firmer it did allow for the cover to be reused.

Overall review:

Five Stars- Perfect; Four Stars- Good; Three Stars- Usable; Two Stars- Not recommended; One Star-Avoid Purchasing

Fit- Three Stars- depends on baby’s frame greatly and in my opinion will not fit all babies. Our chunky baby likely will not fit in this for size large.

Absorbency- Four Stars- Definitely would work well for most babies.

Usage- Four Stars- Only four versus five because it’s an all in two so you have multiple pieces and newbies and some resistant to cloth would not want to deal with that.

Manufacturing- One star- Manufactured in China.
