Teaching others about green living.

My family and I strive to be green at every opportunity we can. We are not perfect, we are still getting better but we strive for it.

My husband who I refered to previously as “Mr.Anti-Green” because he was resistant to anything green has turned over a completely new leaf. He has began to complain about his employers paper consumption, their lack of recycling, and use of toxic chemicals. He teases me I have made him have a green conscious that he didn’t even want to have.

My children have began to notice others who are not green or even worse. They clean up litter at the mall or park and note who puts out their recycle bins and who doesn’t.  My oldest attends a certified green school which he (and all of us) are very proud of.

But what is funny about this? I never set out to educate everyone on the green life or green options. I just chose to live a greener life and strive to be better. The example I set has made everyone around learn better choices and they have began to do it out of habit now.

So you don’t have to work hard to be green and you don’t have to have big lessons on it with your family. Just set the example and they will follow.
